The Advances in Aging Lecture Series is hosted by the University of Arizona Center on Aging Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program in conjunction with the Division of Geriatrics, General Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine, Department of Medicine, UA College of Medicine - Tucson. Objectives:

  1. Describe the impact of hospitalization and associated bed rest across multiple organ systems in older adults
  2. Explain the implications of hospitalization and bedrest for older patients’ recovery and rehabilitation.
  3. Discuss interventions to mitigate the negative impact of bedrest, and strategies to avoid unnecessary hospitalization.
