Presentation Summary: The US Affiliated Pacific region is composed of small remote islands with diverse understudied Asian and Pacific populations that have unique exposures and risks in a rapidly changing environment. Traditionally practiced behaviors include betel nut chewing, growing tubers and catching fish, while changing behaviors involve modern foods and an increasingly sedentary lifestyle with television and video. These remote lower resource environments generally lack monitoring and assessment systems. Work done in the region to monitor, evaluate and intervene on cancer related risks will be described, including several novel measures.
