TOPIC: Lung Transplant: Is my patient a candidate?
SPEAKER: joshua Malo, MD
Dr. Malo obtained his M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He completed his postgraduate Internal Medicine Residency and fellowship training in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the University of Arizona. He has been an active participant in resident education since his residency, serving as a Chief Resident for the Internal Medicine Program from 2009-2010 and as a Chief Fellow in 2012-2013. Upon joining the faculty in 2013, he became the Associate Program Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship. Subsequently, he became an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency for BUMC-T, a role in which he currently serves. His research activities have focuses on fellow education, Valley Fever diagnostics, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Clinically, Dr. Malo has been an active member of the lung transplant and ECMO programs since joining the faculty, serving as Associate Medical Director for both programs.
