TOPIC:The Depressed Heart: An Integrative Cardiology Approach
SPEAKER: Vivian Kominos, MD

Vivian Kominos received her medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She is board certified in cardiology and integrative medicine. She founded her own practice in 1989 which blossomed to a full service consultative and interventional practice. After 15 years of treating heart disease as an invasive cardiologist, she expanded her knowledge by attending a nutrition conference where she first met Dr. Andrew Weil and learned about integrative medicine. She graduated from the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine (AzCIM) fellowship in 2007 and has since concentrated on the prevention, mitigation and healing of heart disease.

Dr. Kominos currently works as an integrative cardiologist and physician at Hackensack Meridian Integrative Health and Medicine in New Jersey. She is Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in Integrative Medicine with the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and a founding member of the American Board of Integrative Medicine. She loves to teach and is an author of curricula for (AzCIM), and lecturer on a wide variety of integrative medicine topics including nutrition, mind body medicine, women and heart health, meditation and disease prevention.
