About the Speaker
Afshin Sam, MD, MSc, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. His clinical and research interest are Interventional Pulmonary (IP), evaluation and management of a spectrum of thoracic disorders of the airways, lung parenchyma, and pleural space with special emphasis on minimally invasive “advanced bronchoscopic and pleuroscopic techniques”. He currently serves as the Director of Ambulatory Pulmonary Services, Director of Pulmonary Function Test Laboratory, and Director of Interventional Pulmonary Program.
