Presenter:  Peter A. Nigrovic, MD
Title:  "Genetics and the Classification of Arthritis in Adults and Children"

Dr. Peter Nigrovic is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and adult and pediatric rheumatologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His laboratory studies basic mechanisms of inflammation, with a focus on autoimmune arthritis in children and adults, including work on neutrophils, megakaryocytes, IgG Fc glycans, and experimental genetics. He leads the Center for Adults with Pediatric Rheumatic Illness (CAPRI), a clinical program dedicated to the long term care of adults with childhood-onset rheumatic illness. Nationally, He directs translational research for the 171-center pediatric rheumatology research collaborative Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA), designed and co-founded the US/Canadian pediatric rheumatology mentoring group AMIGO, leads the NIH P30-funded Joint Biology Consortium arthritis research infrastructure, and is co-editor of Arthritis & Rheumatology
