Karlie Passey Steps into New Role at UA Cancer Center

The University of Arizona Cancer Center welcomes Karlie Passey in her new role as program manager for the new Office of Membership and Staff Affairs. Duties for human resources and membership at the UACC have been combined into this office, overseen by Passey. She previously was membership coordinator.

As of Aug. 1, she provides administrative, human resources and membership support to the UA Cancer Center. She’ll coordinate with UA departmental Human Resources Alliance members, the UA Health Sciences HR Office and other outside organizations as needed. For membership affairs, she’ll continue to work with center members to maintain accurate and complete data to meet requirements for Cancer Center Support Grants, the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Education Advisory Board (EAB), etc.

Prior to joining the UA in July of 2015, Passey oversaw human resources for the entire company portfolio of a large tech corporation in Utah that employed more than 300 people. She also has experience in higher education, having worked in Student Affairs at Brigham Young University – Idaho. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from there with a minor in human resource management.
