In Memory of Cardiology’s Kim Macdonald

The UA Sarver Heart Center faculty and staff are saddened by the unexpected passing Feb. 27 of Kim Macdonald, 54, our colleague and friend who was executive assistant to Nancy Sweitzer, MD, PhD, professor of medicine, center director and chief, UA Division of Cardiology, since 2014.

“Many in both the UAHS and Banner communities were touched daily by Kim’s kindness, support and thoughtfulness. She was the glue that held us together in many ways, and she is sorely missed,” said Dr. Sweitzer.

The Macdonald Family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sarver Heart Center in Kim’s honor: http://heart.arizona.edu/giving

Kim was born and raised in Tucson, attending Sabino High School, the University of Colorado and the University of Arizona. As an Arizona native, she enjoyed all that Arizona offers, from camping, hiking, water skiing, snow skiing, fishing and spending time with her extended family in the White Mountains.
