University of Arizona Internal Medicine Residency Program – South Campus faculty, residents and staff celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2017 with a dinner Saturday, June 10, at the Omni Tucson National Resort, 2727 W. Club Drive.
The site on Tucson’s northwest side frequently hosts the PGA Champions Tour golf tournament, including 30 such events from 1965 to 2006. It also hosts sweeping views of the Santa Catalina Mountains.
Among awards presented were the following:
- Best Intern – Daniel Orta, MD
- Best Resident – Wei Xiang Wong, MD
- William J. First Community Outreach – Norman Beatty, MD
- Best Teaching Faculty – Anil Potharaju, MD
- Program Director's Faculty Award – Vijay Chandiramani, MD
