Pavani Chalasani, MD

Dr. Chalasani completed her medical school at Gandhi Medical College in India and completed her Internship, Residency and Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at the University of Arizona. Dr. Chalasani is an Assistant Professor on staff at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. She specializes in breast cancer and sees patients with breast cancer for treatment decisions regarding hormonal therapy (anti-estrogen therapy), chemotherapy, and second opinions. She is also the Co-Director for Hemophilia Treatment Center (Adult) at the University of Arizona and sees patients with bleeding and clotting disorders.
In addition, she is very active in research and has several ongoing translational and clinical projects. Her key research interest is in development of biomarkers- imaging, blood based or tissue. She is active in the translational and clinical trials research at UACC. She is the Principal Investigator on several industry sponsored, and co-operative group protocols, and Principal Investigator for several investigator initiated trials.  She has received research funding from NIH/NCI, American Cancer Society, Better Than Ever and The University of Arizona Cancer Center-pilot funding mechanism.
