COVID-19 Resources

Based on the most recent pandemic trends, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services allowed the federal COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, declared in March 2020 under Section 319 of the Public Health Service Act, to expire at the end of the day on May 11, 2023.

I applaud all University of Arizona Department of Medicine faculty, trainees and administrative staff for their stellar performance and ability to adapt to new standards of care and protection as well as such seemingly ever-changing challenges during this unprecedented time. It was beyond professional. Thank you also to all of our educators and support staff for transitioning to digital learning for students with grace and a growth mindset.

In alignment with this transition, effective May 15, 2023, the University will consolidate COVID-19-related information and resources on the Campus Health COVID-19 Information and Resource Hub. As UArizona President Robert C. Robbins, MD, announced in his 2023 pre-commencement week message, you will find the latest updates about testing options, vaccinations and what to do if, you test positive for COVID-19 at that webpage.

Let’s remember that COVID-19 is not gone. The disease caused by SARS-COV-2 and its variants will remain a threat to those whose health is immunocompromised, particularly if they aren't vaccinated. We should always remember to follow all personal protective protocols where necessary and required by the nature of our roles as health care professionals to prevent infections.
