Houmard, Ph.D. Professor in the Department of Exercise & Sport Science, Director, Bioenergetics Ph.D. Program, Deptments of Exercise & Sport Science & Physiology at East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina. Dr. Houmard's research focuses on skeletal muscle metabolism and how it is altered with conditions such as aging , insulin, resistance, and obesity and how interventions such as weight loss and exercise exert their positive effects.
