About the Speaker
Dr. Coletta is an Associate Professor in the College of Medicine at University of Arizona.  She has a shared appointment between the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and the Department of Physiology.  In addition, Dr. Coletta is an Associate Professor in the Center for Disparities in Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism.  She joined the University of Arizona in August 2016.  Prior to joining the University of Arizona, Dr. Coletta was an Assistant Professor in the Center for Metabolic and Vascular Biology (CMVB) at Arizona State University (ASU), and prior to that an Assistant Professor in the Diabetes Division in the Department of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Dr. Coletta completed her Ph.D. degree at Aston University in Birmingham, England. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Diabetes Division in the Department of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Her primary research interests are to study the genetic and epigenetics of insulin resistance.
