About the Speaker
Carolyn Bangert earned her undergraduate degree at Wheaton College in Illinois followed by her medical degree at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. She completed her residency in dermatology at University of Arizona before returning to UT Southwestern to do a fellowship in rheumatic skin diseases. She subsequently spent nine years on the faculty at University of Texas at Houston, where she held biweekly rheumatic skin disease clinics, was the faculty advisor for their monthly joint dermatology-rheumatology conference, and was the Faculty Elective coordinator for the dermatology rotation and advisor to the medical students. For the past two years, she has worked in private practice at Associated Dermatologists and worked part time at University of Arizona, where she holds a weekly rheumatic skin disease clinic. She is a founding member of the Rheumatologic Dermatology Society and served as Director-at-Large and chairman of the website committee for 11 years. She speaks annually at the American Academy of Dermatology.
