Pulmonary Circulation

Pulmonary Circulation, an official journal of the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute, is a specialized scientific journal focusing on publishing original research articles, review articles, guideline and consensus articles and case report in the fields of pulmonary vascular pathobiology, pulmonary vascular disease, and lung injury.

The journal’s editorial office is co-located in the Division of Translational and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Arizona Health Sciences campus in Tucson, Arizona. Jason X.-J. Yuan, MD, PhD, chief of the division, is founding editor-in-chief of the journal, and Mary E. Reynolds, from the division is currently its Editorial Associate. Several others from the UA Health Sciences (UAHS) and the UA College of Medicine – Tucson are affiliated with Pulmonary Circulation, including UA Sr. Vice President for Health Sciences Joe G.N. “Skip” Garcia, MD, as associate editor (see below for a full list).

The main goal of Pulmonary Circulation is to encourage basic, translational and clinical research by investigators, physician-scientists and clinicians in the hope of increasing survival rates for pulmonary hypertension and other pulmonary vascular diseases worldwide and developing new therapeutic approaches for the diseases. Available free online, the journal allows diverse knowledge of research, techniques, and case studies to reach a wide readership of specialists in order to improve patient care and treatment outcomes.

Pulmonary Circulation is the first journal of its kind to deal exclusively with pulmonary circulation and diseases of the pulmonary vascular system. The journal not only connects clinicians and researchers interested in pulmonary circulation, pulmonary vascular disease and lung vascular injury—it connects physicians/researchers in developing countries to their colleagues in developed countries.

Pulmonary Circulation publishes articles on topics related to:

  1. Molecular and cell biology, structure and physiology, pathophysiology, and translational research topics of the pulmonary circulation;
  2. State-of-the-art techniques and their potential applications in diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary vascular diseases and lung injury;
  3. Clinical diagnosis, treatment and surgical interventions of pulmonary vascular diseases; d) techniques and technology applied to research on pulmonary vasculature and to clinical management of pulmonary vascular diseases; and
  4. Progress and advances in clinical management and scientific research of pulmonary vascular disease in developing countries.

We encourage researchers and clinicians to read Pulmonary Circulation, cite articles of interest, and submit their work to the journal. For more information about the journal, click here.
