‘Medication Discoveries in the Pipeline’ Focus of Next Petersen Clinic Team Rx Reception

The Petersen Clinics Pharmacy Group—aka T-Rx Group (or Team Rx)—is providing a presentation on “In the Pipeline: Medication Discoveries” at its next meet-your-pharmacist community event Friday, Jan. 27, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network (TIHAN), 2660 N. 1st Ave.

Free parking and light refreshments will be provided.

These events offer patients, their friends and families direct access for medication questions about current, new and future treatments for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and AIDS as well as an opportunity to learn tips for medication success.

The Petersen HIV Clinics at the University of Arizona have been providing comprehensive care for HIV/AIDS patients in southern Arizona for more than 30 years. They are funded by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)—a unit of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services—through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. With the support of the Ryan White Program, all eligible HIV-positive patients can receive primary care at reduced or no cost.

The UA Petersen Clinics, while operating at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson and South hospitals, are part of the UA Division of Infectious Diseases. The division is part of the UA Department of Medicine, the largest in the UA College of Medicine – Tucson. It also runs the Arizona AIDS Education & Training Center, which is funded by HRSA grants as well and is focused on providing health care professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to offer outstanding care to people living with HIV and AIDS.
