The first lecture in the UA Department of Medicine's Research Seminar Series filled the seats on Sept. 8 to hear department Chair Monica Kraft, MD, and research partner Julie Ledford, PhD, discuss their work on "Surfactant Protein-A (SP-A) & Asthma: From Basic Science to Translational Research."
A line of viewers stretched across the back of the Chase Bank Auditorium (UAHS Room 8403), where their talk was held.

The Research Seminar Series showcases the innovative basic, translational and clinical research being done in the UA Department of Medicine. The lectures pair a senior and junior faculty investigator from different divisions to offer a range of topics of interest to a broad audience. Each speaker talks for 20-25 minutes with the remainder of the time for Q&A.
The next speakers in the series are Prabir Roy-Chaudhury, Chief, MD, PhD, Division of Nephrology, and Anita Koshy, PhD, an assistant professor in the Departments of Neurology and Immunobiology, on Thursday, Oct. 13, at noon—click here or on the flyer at right to view the program. The lectures occur on the second Thursday of the month, starting in UAHS Room 8403 through December and finishing the rest of the year (through June 2017) in UAHS Room 5403.
A light lunch accompanies the lecture. All lectures are livestreamed and archived at: http://streaming.biocom.arizona.edu/ (Click on the date of event to view.)
NOTE: Videos prior to 2017 were purged from UAHS BioCommunications archives in 2021 with rollout of a new website for the University of Arizona Health Sciences, which also eliminated archived stories prior to 2017 for the former UAHS Office of Public Affairs, now known as the UAHS Office of Communications.
