Bone marrow transplants (BMT) will be the main topic at the next Open House at the UA Cancer Center – North Campus, 3838 N. Campbell Ave., on Monday, Aug. July 28, 5-7 p.m. The theme of the event is “BMT & Multiple Myeloma.”
Presenters will be Faiz Anwer, MD, FACP, a UA assistant professor and member of the UA Cancer Center whose research focuses on bone marrow and stem cell transplantation and leukemia, and Amit Agarwal, MD, PhD, whose research has taken a bench-to-bedside approach involving plasma cell disorders, gaining experience with clinical trials and translational research in monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) and multiple myeloma. Both Dr. Anwer and Dr. Agarwal are members of the BMT-Leukemia Multidisciplinary Clinic team and faculty within the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the UA Department of Medicine.
Light refreshments and soft entertainment will be provided. Celtic harpist Mary Bouley has been added to the program for entertainment.
