Chances for Collaboration, Training to Abound at DOM’s First PI Research Poster Night, Jan. 17

The University of Arizona Department of Medicine will host an inaugural Principal Investigators (PI) Poster Session on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in Kiewit Auditorium in the Leon F. Levy Building at the UA Cancer Center.

  • Come see nearly 40 posters representing clinical and basic science to translational research on advanced genomic and precision medicine studies.
  • Learn about areas where you can pursue collaboration and about research training opportunities for fellows, residents and students.

“The goal of the evening is to present the exciting research being conducted in our department and we also hope that this poster session will help recruit fellows, residents and students to our respective research groups,” said UA cardiologist Jil Tardiff, MD, PhD, a professor of medicine, DOM vice chair for research, a member of the UA Sarver Heart Center and BIO5 Institute, and the Steven M. Gootter Endowed Chair for the Prevention of Sudden Cardiac Death.  “Food and drink will be provided!”

This research poster night is meant to recognize work across the UA Department of Medicine by faculty physicians and researchers who serve as PIs on numerous projects financed by federal grants and additional funding to develop innovative therapies and other solutions to many of the world’s most challenging and debilitating medical issues.
