UA Researcher Receives Award from St. Baldrick’s Foundation to Fight Childhood Cancer

Justina McEvoy, PhD, a research member at the University of Arizona Cancer Center and assistant professor in the UA Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, has been named a St. Baldrick’s Scholar and awarded a $167,000 career development award for her research on rhabdomyosarcoma, a pediatric cancer that affects the developing skeletal muscle in young children.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation was established in 1999 as a not-for-profit organization to raise funds to seek cures for childhood cancers. The career development award helps promising investigators early in their careers establish independent research programs.
