Congratulations to 114 University of Arizona medical students who matched into residency programs today, March 16—Match Day 2018 for U.S. medical schools and students who’ll graduate this spring and become doctors when residency programs begin July 1.

The Match is held annually at U.S. medical schools, with all medical students opening their envelopes simultaneously (locally at 10 a.m.) across the country to find out where they’ll do their training as resident physicians.

A third of medical students in the UA Class of 2018 will remain in Arizona to pursue their residency training. More than half will pursue primary care—a physician specialty critically low in Arizona and the nation.

She is starting along with the three that matched last year: Drs. Loh, Turnock and Vasic,” said Mary Dickinson, program coordinator, UA Advanced Dermatology Residency.
