Juan P. Galvez, MD

Leaving the U of A College of Medicine - Tucson faculty in 2023, Dr. Galvez had been a member since completing his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism here in 2015. Before that, he was a clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City (2012-13) and a senor staff hospitalist at Henry Ford Health System's main campus in Detroit, Mich., and its West Bloomfield and Warren hospitals (2010-12). Dr. Galvez did his residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, working also at Methodist Hospital and Frankford-Torresdale Hospital (also in Philadelphia), Veteran's Association Hospital (Wilmington, Del.) and Jefferson Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic (Marlton, N.J.). He earned his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadephia and a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry at the University of Miami. A native of Venezuela, Dr. Galvez is fluent in English and Spanish. He holds clinics at the Diabetes Physician Offices in the Abrams Building at Banner - University Medical Center South Campus and does ward rounds and consulting at both the Banner - UMC South and Tucson hospitals.
