Winners Announced for 2019-20 Faculty Teaching Awards

The list below of honorees for the 2019-2020 University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson teaching awards can also be found at this link. Among those honored from the Department of Medicine were João Paulo “JP” Ferreira, MD, with the Division of General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine as well as an assistant program director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program – Tucson Campus, Elizabeth Juneman, MD, from the Division of Cardiology and Sarver Heart Center, and Erika Bracamonte, MD, a pathology professor who teaches in the DOM's Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, Renal Systems Block. The Department of Medicine also won for outstanding teaching by a clerkship program:

RURAL PRECEPTOR TEACHING AWARDS

The Rural Preceptor Teaching Award recognizes an outstanding volunteer physician preceptor from the Rural Health Professions Program, a longitudinal education program designed to nurture interest in rural practice. These primary care physicians practice in small and medium sized communities around Arizona. They precept and teach 1st year, 3rd year and 4th year medical students during rural elective rotations throughout the four years of medical school.
