TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona will continue to hold in-person classes only for “essential courses” at least through Friday, Oct. 2, UArizona President Robert C. Robbins, MD, said Monday in the university’s weekly briefing on the campus’s reentry.

TUCSON, Ariz. – Monica Kraft, MD, an internationally noted physician-scientist and longtime chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, has been named contact principal investigator for the UArizona – Banner Health All of Us Research Program.

Initial findings reported by the Arizona COVID-19 Genomics Union suggest that following Arizona’s first reported case of COVID-19 in late January, the state experienced no cases that went undetected and was COVID-free until at least 11 distinct incursions occurred between mid-February and early April.

The results were published in mBio, an open access journal published by the American Society for Microbiology, earlier this month.
