TUCSON, Ariz. — University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins, MD, will be among the first group of general population members to have their blood drawn for the COVID-19 antibody test developed by UArizona researchers.
More than $500,000 has been awarded to teams of University of Arizona researchers to jump-start projects to fight COVID-19.
The university's BIO5 Institute(link is external), which connects hundreds of researchers in different disciplines to address complex challenges, was able to swiftly respond to the pandemic and release a round of seed funding via the Technology and Research Initiative Fund, which will enable researchers to positively impact the health of Arizonans and combat the global pandemic through their efforts.

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona today announced it will provide antibody testing for the state of Arizona. Gov. Doug Ducey announced earlier that the state will offer antibody tests for health care workers and first responders across the state. The state investment will allow UArizona to test 250,000 of Arizona's front-line workforce.
