Chief residents for the next academic year in the University of Arizona Department of Medicine’s three residency programs have been announced, with additional kudos, too, to those in the internal medicine programs who already were tabbed for the coming year.
Janet Major, associate director for education and facilities at the Arizona Telemedicine Program, based at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, has been elected president of the United States Distance Learning Association.

Joann Sweasy, PhD, an expert in DNA repair and genomic instability, has joined the University of Arizona Cancer Center as associate director for basic sciences.
