Dr. Rober Russo enjoys a national and international reputation for expertise in intravascular imaging, cardiac MRI, and MRI for patients with an implanted cardiac device. He is passionately committed to medical education, and physician-initiated clinical research designed to improve the quality of cardiovascular care. He is presently an adjunct professor in Molecular and Experimental Medicine at The Scripps Research Institute, a former fellow and board member of the Hewitt Medical Research Foundation, and a former Skaggs Scholar for Translational Medicine. Dr. Russo is the principal investigator of the AVID study (Angiography Vs IVUS-Directed stent placement), the Left Main IVUS Registry, and the MagnaSafe Registry. He is the author of the “IVUS Pocket Guide,” and his academic record includes more than 30 publications, 75 abstracts, and 200 invited academic lectures.
