About the speaker: Dr. Hauser is from Upstate New York and went to college at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she studied Philosophy and Chemistry. She went on to study Environmental and Occupational Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked in a zoonotic parasitology lab. She attended medical school at St George's University in Grenada in the West Indies and completed her internal medicine residency at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Currently Dr. Hauser is an infectious disease fellow at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Most of her research involves vector-borne infections.
