About the Speaker:
Dr. William Lainhart is a board-certified clinical microbiologist, an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Medicine (Division of Infectious Diseases) at the University of Arizona, the Medical Director of Clinical and Molecular Microbiology at the Banner-University Medical Center Tucson, and a System Clinical Director of Infectious Diseases for Sonora Quest Laboratories/Laboratory Sciences of Arizona. Dr. Lainhart received his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University at Albany (SUNY) and the Wadsworth Center (New York State Department of Health). After receiving his PhD, Dr. Lainhart worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Wadsworth Center in the Public Health Microbiology and Virology laboratories. Following his postdoctoral work, Dr. Lainhart completed a 2-year Clinical and Public Health Microbiology Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
