Jamilah Shubeilat, MD, MPH

Dr. Jamilah Shubeilat was born and raised in Amman, Jordan; she attended the University of Jordan for medical school and graduated in 2006 with Honors and a GPA of 3.87, ranking second in her class. She trained at King Hussein Cancer Center, a leading center for cancer patients in the Middle East, and was awarded the best resident award during her work there. She moved to Tucson, Ariz., in 2009 to start her internal medicine residency at the University of Arizona, which she completed in 2012. She became a chief resident in 2012-2013. In December 2012, she matched at the University of Massachusetts (Worcester) Infectious Disease Fellowship Program, which she completed in 2015. Before joining the faculty at the UA College of Medicine – Tucson in December 2018, she was an infectious diseases consultant with BJC Medical Group at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo., where she also served as chair of the Infection Prevention Committee and director of the Antibiotics Stewardship Program. She is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. She completed her Master's in public health with a concentration in health administration in May 2019 from the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. She is currently the medical director of the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy program at the Banner University Medical Center. She enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, and all kinds of music.
