Mohammad El-Ghanem, MD
"Neuroendovascular intervention in acute ischemic stroke"

Dr. El-Ghanem has been named Co-Medical Director of our Comprehensive Stroke Center. He is a highly experienced Interventional and Stroke Neurologist.  Dr. El-Ghanem completed a NeuroEndovascular and Interventional Neuroradiology Fellowship at Rutgers University as well as a Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Pennsylvania State University.  Dr. El-Ghanem performs interventions for acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes including thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, and carotid artery angioplasty and stenting.  Dr. El-Ghanem also evaluates and treats patients at the North Campus clinic including strokes, unruptured aneurysms, carotid artery stenosis, arteriovenous malformations, and arteriovenous fistulas.  Dr. El-Ghanem focuses on providing quality care as he would for his family members. He applies cutting-edge technology and research for each disease process he encounters. He is highly invested in stroke education and is the physician lead for the BUMCT North Campus Stroke Support Group.
