"An Overview of Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis"
Sasha Taleban, MD

Sasha Taleban, MD, completed his medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle. He went on to the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York for residency before gastroenterology fellowship at Brown in Rhode Island. Dr. Taleban completed an additional advanced fellowship in Crohn’s and colitis at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has served on faculty at the University of Arizona since 2013 where he has led the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program (IBD) since 2014. During his tenure, he has developed a robust IBD clinical trials program. His research has centered around aging in IBD and gastroenterology. In 2014, he started a local monthly, live, multidisciplinary IBD Case Conference which evolved into a funded, national conference called IBD West that includes nine institutions. Additionally, during his tenure, he has helped develop the largest referral base of Crohn’s and colitis patients in Arizona.
