"The Evolving Field of Melanoma Diagnosis with an Emphasis on Skin Imaging"

Clara Curiel, MD

Dr. Curiel is a Professor of  Medicine, Interim Chief of Dermatology, the Co-Director of the UA Cancer Center Skin Cancer Institute, and the Director of the Cutaneous Oncology Program. Her research contributions have focused on photobiology, therapeutic prevention, drug development, and early skin cancer detection through novel non-invasive imaging techniques. She is also the Principal Investigator of the NCI/DCP Skin Cancer Prevention Program Project Grant, translating the use of TLR4 and TOPK/PRPK inhibitors from an experimental setting to phase 1 clinical trials. She serves in several national and international committees focusing on identifying gaps and novel solutions to address the increasing incidence of skin cancer.
