"Coccidioidomycosis: Overview and Updates"
George Thompson, MD

Dr. Thompson is Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine with a joint appointment in the Departments of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, and Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Thompson specializes in the care of patients with invasive fungal infections and has research interest in fungal diagnostics, clinical trials, and host immunogenetics.  He has over 200 peer-reviewed publications and over 150 abstracts presented at national and international meetings. Dr. Thompson serves on the IDSA Aspergillosis Guideline Committee, the NIH HIV/AIDS OI Guideline Committee, and is a member of the Coccidioidomycosis Study Group Executive Committee, and is chair of the Mycoses Study Group Education Committee - responsible for the development of content and dissemination of materials to practitioners across the United States, planning of the mycology content at yearly meetings (IDSA and ICAAC), and the design of clinical trials.
