Presenter: C. Kent Kwoh, MD, is a professor of medicine and medical imaging in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, chief of the Division of Rheumatology, and has held the Charles A.L. and Suzanne M. Stephens Endowed Chair in Rheumatology since his arrival at UArizona in 2013. He also has served as director of the UArizona Arthritis Center since that time. Dr Kwoh earned his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and his medical degree from the University of Illinois Chicago. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois Hospitals, a fellowship in rheumatology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Yale University.
Dr. Kwoh’s major research interests include outcome assessment and risk factors for development and progression of a spectrum of arthritis and musculoskeletal diseases. His memberships include the Arthritis Foundation, American College of Rheumatology, where he’s a founding fellow and served on the board of directors, and the Rheumatology Research Foundation. In addition, he’s a member of the National Arthritis Data Workgroup, which is sponsored by the National Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, a unit of the National Institutes of Health. He has had continuous funding from the NIH since 1989 and is author of more than 260 scientific journal articles and book chapters. He has served on various committees that have developed guidelines for the management of diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis nationally and internationally.
