Join us for the

Data Science Bootcamp

When: Monday, December 2 & Wednesday, December 4 | 12-4 p.m. on both days

Join us for two half-day hands-on training sessions on two popular statistical machine learning methods for classification and prediction. This course will enable you to perform an entirely reproducible analysis using markdown language in RStudio. Hosted by Bonnie LaFleur, PhD, associate director of Biomedical Informatics and Biostatistics (CB2), research professor at R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy, and director of the Health Outcomes & PharmacoEconomic Research (HOPE) Center. The first day is didactic — meaning we will be talking about two statistical machine learning techniques -- the second day are participants presentations of an analysis project focusing on interpretation and translation and best practices around visualization of results.

Day 1 | “Reproducible Data Science with Quarto, RStudio, and Introduction to Random Forest & Regularized Regression Based Algorithms” will combine didactic learning with hands-on training.

Day 2 | “Visualization, and Interpretation” will feature presentations and feedback on group analysis projects.

Data for both days will be provided before the first session — early registration is encouraged!
