Rheumatology Grand Rounds
Learning Objectives

Participants should be able to understand:

  1. The history of rheumatic diseases
  2. How rheumatic diseases are represented in art, and, to a lesser extent, literature
  3. How rheumatic disease and related illness influenced historical figures, indeed history
  4. How the appearance of rheumatic diseases at certain times in the arts and history might provide insights about possible etiopathogenesis
  5. How certain extraordinary contributions to the arts were created by individuals with rheumatic disorders
