Rheumatology Grand Rounds
Learning Objectives
Participants should be able to understand:
- The history of rheumatic diseases
- How rheumatic diseases are represented in art, and, to a lesser extent, literature
- How rheumatic disease and related illness influenced historical figures, indeed history
- How the appearance of rheumatic diseases at certain times in the arts and history might provide insights about possible etiopathogenesis
- How certain extraordinary contributions to the arts were created by individuals with rheumatic disorders
