The Sarver Heart Center lecture series at the University of Arizona Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will continue in 2024 with a four-part lecture series in March and April. The lectures take place on Fridays from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. between March 22 and April 12.
The OLLI Lecture Series will kick off this year on Friday, March 22, when Dallin Tavoian, PhD, a postdoctoral clinical scientist in the Arizona Respiratory Neurophysiology Lab under UArizona Physiology Professor Fiona Bailey, PhD, will present his research on inspiratory resistance training (IRT), which has been shown to reduce blood pressure significantly after training for five minutes a day over six weeks. Dr. Tavoian’s research also explores whether this device can improve cognitive outcomes and brain health, especially in the aging population. He will present his work in a 60-minute presentation followed by an opportunity for Q&A.
