Maurice Sarano, M.D., Mayo Clinic in Rochester, presents Evaluation and Management of Mitral Regurgitation.  

Maurice Sarano, M.D., is Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine with a longstanding interest in valvular heart diseases, outcomes and imaging. He was Director of the Mayo Heart Valve Clinic for over ten years.  His research has focused on all types of valve diseases from the macroscopic mechanistic point of view to quantitative imaging to outcomes and criteria for intervention with a specific focus on studying the physiology and mechanisms of mitral regurgitation.  Over the years, his work has provided him with extensive experience in cardiac imaging; leading to publication of more than 250 peer-reviewed manuscripts related to human cardiac valve disease.
