Throughout the month of October, nationally known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bashas’ and K-LOVE 88.1 have joined forces to conduct a breast cancer awareness drive in the Bashas’ stores throughout Southern and Eastern Arizona to support breast cancer research at the University of Arizona Cancer Center.
“We are delighted to join forces with these great community companies in our mission to prevent and cure cancer,” said Anne Cress, PhD, interim director of the UA Cancer Center. “Our researchers are on the front line of the search for the causes and cures for breast cancer.”
At each of the nine grocery stores from Thatcher and Morenci, and throughout Pima County, shoppers can purchase pink paper pinups in familiar University of Arizona logos at Bashas’ registers to help UA Cancer Center researchers who are seeking cures for breast cancer.
“It’s an honor to be part of this great cause and support the UA Cancer Center in its mission to prevent and cure breast cancer by accepting monetary donations at our registers,” said Edward Basha III.
K-LOVE will broadcast live from the Bashas’ store at 3275 N. Swan Rd. in Tucson on Friday, Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
