Above, Stephen Black, PhD, UA professor of medicine and director of the Center for Lung Vascular Pathobiology in the Division of Translational and Regenerative Medicine, meets with Department of Medicine Chair Monica Kraft, MD, on Dec. 7. In November, Dr. Kraft began holding “Coffee with Kraft” sessions with faculty in the department to get feedback on progress since she arrived from Duke University to take on her new position in December 2014. With one or two invited per session, the breakfast events offer physicians and faculty an opportunity for closer consultation on department goals and strategies to achieve them, as well as to gain input on opportunities to improve faculty development, education, research and clinical affairs. Topics include the ongoing transition in the merger and academic affiliation with Banner – University Medicine in late February 2015, which requires physician feedback on clinical planning for the new main campus hospital and north campus outpatient facilities being built by Banner Health in Tucson. For faculty questions or to get on the “Coffee with Kraft” breakfast schedule, contact the Chair’s Office at 626-6349. Click on photos above to enlarge.
