Nine Faculty Physicians Receive Promotions in Department of Medicine

Congratulations to the nine faculty physicians within the UA Department of Medicine who recently received promotions.

They include three from the Division of Hematology & Oncology, two from the Division of Nephrology and one each from the divisions of Cardiology, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Infectious Diseases, and Rheumatology. Four became full professors. Two received tenure.

They are, with their new academic titles:

“Thank you for your hard work toward making the Department of Medicine a better place to work, study and practice medicine,” said Monica Kraft, MD, professor, department chair and the Robert and Irene Flinn Endowed Chair of Medicine. “We appreciate all that you—and all our faculty—do in the department to help us continue to improve our academic, research and clinical environment for staff, students, residents, fellows and fellow faculty.”

All faculty who received promotions were recognized at the General Faculty Meeting on Aug. 10 for the UA College of Medicine – Tucson. You can read reports and hear an audio recording of that meeting here. The next COM General Faculty Meeting will be Nov. 9 at 4:30 p.m. in Kiewit Auditorium.
