Save the Date: DPEC Diabetes & Wellness Fair at South Campus, July 20

The Diabetes Prevention and Education Center (DPEC) in the Abrams Public Health Center lobby on the Banner – University Medical Center South campus will hold its first Diabetes and Wellness Fair for a group of approximately 200 attendees anticipated, including hospital staff, health partners, and the community to promote health and wellness.

This interactive event will include our partners, the YMCA of Southern Arizona and American Diabetes Association, as well as vendors and other community organizations featuring their goods and services that promote health and well-being. Vendors include Alfonso Gourmet Olive Oil & Balsamics, Beyond Bread, Bird's Nest Baking Company, Fox Restaurant Concepts (Blanco Tacos+Tequila, North Italia, Wildflower, Zinburger), Kinnikinnick Foods, Natural Grocers, Sprouts Farmers Market and Trattoria Pina Cucina Italiana. Get free samples, healthful living information and raffle prizes.

The health fair will featuring tours of the facilities (that include a classroom, demonstration kitchen and fitness room), screenings, exercise activities, healthy cooking demonstrations and brief sessions on nutrition, behavior and support for lifestyle changes both to prevent diabetes and to improve the lives of those living with diabetes and their families.

Come and meet some of our instructors and take the challenge to be entered in the big raffle.
