UA Division of Nephrology Chief Prabir Roy-Chaudhury, MD, PhD, will host an #AskASN Twitter chat tonight, May 24, at 9 p.m. EDT (6 p.m. in Tucson) on behalf of the American Society of Nephrology and the Kidney Health Initiative (KHI).
Expected to be a key topic are issues anticipated to come up at ASN’s KHI Stakeholder Meeting, which runs May 25-26 in Silver Spring, Md., near Washington, DC. Dr. Roy-Chaudhury is the co-chair of the initiative a public-private partnership of the ASN and U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
He is also expected to discuss his recently published article, “Overcoming Barriers in Kidney Health - Forging a Platform for Innovation,” which ran in the April 28 issue of JASN, the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.

Dr. Roy-Chaudhury joined the faculty at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson last summer. Previously, he was a professor of medicine and biomedical engineering at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he also was medical director of the UC Health Vascular Access Center; section head for dialysis vascular access, in the Division of Nephrology; and director of the Dialysis Vascular Access Research Group in the Division of Nephrology. He also was section head of dialysis vascular access at the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
