UA Cancer Center Open House to Focus on Clinical Trials, July 28

“Clinical Trials” is the theme of the next Open House at the UA Cancer Center – North Campus, 3838 N. Campbell Ave., on Thursday, July 28, 5-7 p.m.

Daruka Mahadevan, MD, PhDDaruka Mahadevan, MD, PhD, new director of the UA Cancer Center’s Phase I Clinical Trials Program and Experimental Therapeutics co-director, and his team will present on options and opportunities in our clinical trials program.

As director of the Phase I Program, Dr. Mahadevan conducts first-in-human clinical trials with new drugs for patients with all solid tumor types as well as patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). His research interests focus on discovering novel therapeutic targets through a rigorous validation process and, then, designing drugs to these targets. A former UA fellow, he joined the UA College of Medicine – Tucson faculty in January
