Cardiology’s Dr. Raj Janardhanan Speaks at World Congress of Echocardiography

Dr. Raj Janardhanan at World Congress of EchocardiographyRaj Janardhanan, MD, an associate professor of medicine and medical imaging in the UA Division of Cardiology, a UA Sarver Heart Center member, and medical director for non-invasive cardiac imaging and director of echocardiography at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson, was an invited international speaker at the World Congress of Echocardiography (Cardio Echo 2017) in Jaipur, India.

Dr. Janardhanan (right) gave several talk during the Oct. 5-8 conference, including on aortic aneurysm and assessment of mitral regurgitation.

Textbook of EchocardiographyIn addition, the Indian Academy of Echocardiography included a chapter by Dr. Janardhanan on “Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)” in the recently published Textbook of Echocardiography.

Grand rounds at India's Trivandrum Medical College He also presented during grand rounds Oct. 12 at Trivandrum Medical College (right) in Chalakkuzhi, India, on the subject of “3DTEE Guidance for Catheter based Interventions.”

Earlier this fall (Sept. 15), he spoke during grand rounds at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., on “Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: Lessons Learned from Advances in Imaging.”

And Dr. Janardhanan was invited to join the Contrast Update Writing Group Committee for the American Society of Echocardiography, where he participated as co-author on an updated manuscript for “Guidelines for the Cardiac Sonographer in the Performance of Contrast Echocardiography” that will be published later this year.
