The 2018 ADVICE Collaborative took place on Thursday, June 21 at the Black Canyon Conference Center in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Prabir Roy-Chaudhury delivered the opening keynote address on the topic of "Patient Centered Innovation in Kidney Disease: Challenges and Opportunities." A variety of speakers elaborated on the collaborative's theme of patient engagement:

- Learn about impacts of storms to dialysis patients and providers
- Improve understanding of response efforts, and how to apply lessons learned
Making Dialysis Safer for Patients: Infection Control

Objectives:
- Describe the importance of infection prevention in dialysis including the impact of infections on the hemodialysis patient population
- Improve knowledge of general infection prevention measures and core recommended practices
- Utilize CDC tools to identify infection prevention practice gaps and needs that support improvement opportunities
- Increase knowledge of strategies to involve the patient in infection control
