Five DOM Faculty Elected to Six Posts on UA College of Medicine – Tucson 2018-19 Committees

Drs. Jen Cook, Janet Funk, Reza Movahed, Afshin Sam and Rachna Shroff picked for COM-T committeesFive faculty members from the University of Arizona Department of Medicine were among 48 UA College of Medicine – Tucson faculty elected to 16 committees for the college for the 2018-19 academic year.

In addition, with all ballots tallied, all proposed changes to the COM-T P&T Guidelines for promotion and tenure were approved by the college. This includes:

  • Revision of name change from College of Medicine to College of Medicine – Tucson – 83% approved
  • Incorporation of references to career track/non-tenure eligible faculty or tracks – 85% approved
  • Addition of criteria on the Scholarship of Engagement – 81% approved
  • Addition of Appendix G, which presents examples of scholarship of engagement activities that will contribute to promotion – Approved 84%
