Get a CatCard or Your CatCard Checked for 6OPC/7OPC Office Space Entry, March 19-22

Wilbur Wildcat's CatCardFor the convenience of Faculty/Staff/Students/DCCs, the Planning and Facilities Office for the University of Arizona Health Sciences has arranged for the CatCard Office to host a CatCard event on our campus (AHS Library Room 2150P) March 19-22 for half days as follows:

► Monday, March 19, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
► Tuesday, March 20, 1-3 p.m.
► Wednesday, March 21, 8:30-10:30 a.m., and
► Thursday, March 22, 8:30-10:30 a.m.

This is important because security is being added to the doors of former clinical space being renovated for office use by several UA College of Medicine – Tucson departments, including the UA Department of Medicine which will take over outpatient clinic (OPC) space on the 6th floor and 7th floor (shared on the 7th floor with the Arizona Center on Aging). Non-business hour visits (i.e., early or late, weekends and holiday closures) will require a valid CatCard and pin for entry.

EXTRA INFO

After-hours access to the 6th and 7th floors (before 7 a.m. and after 6 p.m.) will require a CatCard as well as the 4-digit PIN that is linked to the card. If you need to reset or create a Cat Card PIN, please log in with your UA Net ID on this website, https://www.fm.arizona.edu/dacportal/. The web page will open directly to the PIN management page—after you've cleared the two-step authentication (read below for information on that).

Please also note, UAccess will be requiring two-step authentication starting in April. Beginning April 3, NetID+ two-step authentication will be required for all UA Staff and DCCs. The same will be required of all UA Faculty beginning April 10. For that, go to netid-plus.arizona.edu to enroll today! More detail on two-step authentication here.

Update added March 30, 2018

Heather Hendrych“This event is really going to be for those who want to use the ‘drop in workspace’ after hours or want a CatCard and have never obtained one for whatever reason,” noted Heather Hendrych, DOM senior program coordinator.

“If they don’t take advantage of the event here they will need to go over to the Cat Card office to get a card.  Angie Souza, senior director, Planning and Facilities, University of Arizona Health Sciences, will be speaking at the upcoming department faculty meeting, March 20, to discuss the advantages of having/using this type of ‘drop in’ space and how more institutions are going to this type of office/workstation model.”

Please note, this service is free to those with: Backside of CatCard

  • Replacement of CatCard that does not have the keyless access technology
(NOTE: check magnetic stripe on back of card; if it is located on the top section replacement is required).
  • First issued CatCard to UA Faculty/Staff/Students
  • First issued CatCard to Affiliate DCCs

For those that lost their card or are non-Affiliate DCCs who would like to get a CatCard, the cost is $25—checks only/NO CASH or CARDS.

The Department of Medicine will have the doors to the renovated space on the 6th and 7th floors programmed to be open during business hours but will have them locked after hours. That means a CatCard will be required to gain entry. Those moving into these renovated spaces (i.e., formerly 6OPC and 7OPC) who do not have a CatCard should definitely attend this event.

Anyone not officially assigned a sit-down space in 6OPC/7OPC who does not attend this event, does not fall under one of the three aforementioned categories to get their card for free, and chooses to use the “drop in space” at the North end of 6OPC after hours will need to pay to get a CatCard or a replacement CatCard at the CatCard Office.

During this CatCard Event, the CatCard office will be happy to check individual cards to ensure they’re valid for entry purposes.

Departments being offered this opportunity/moving to a new keyless access location are as follows:

  • Emergency Medicine
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Pathology
  • Medicine
  • Anesthesiology
  • UAHS Human Resources
  • Family Community Medicine
  • Center on Aging
  • Medical Imaging
  • Integrative Medicine

“Please note, if your faculty/staff/students/DCCs do not attend this event, they will need to go to the CatCard Office. Please share this information with your department,” underscored Jill Garcia, senior program coordinator, Planning and Facilities, UA Health Sciences.

The office is located at UA Student Union Memorial Center, Business Services Center, Room 142, 1303 E. University Blvd. For more information, please visit the CatCard website, https://catcard.arizona.edu, or call (520) 626-9162.
