EXTRA INFO
Tirdad Zangeneh, DO, associate program director for the UA Internal Medicine Residency Program – University Campus and associate professor in the UA Division of Infectious Diseases, attended the ACP Journal Club meeting in Tucson.
“Our students were very well prepared and presented an excellent article accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation discussing Hepatitis C-related cryoglobulinemia. The other medical students from other programs were teleconferenced in and a very good discussion followed,” he said.
Theresa Thai, a Class of 2018 medical student at the UA College of Medicine - Tucson and co-chair of the local chapter of the Internal Medicine Student Association, noted, "Dr. Zangeneh's expertise in the topic area greatly contributed to facilitating the discussion and was much appreciated by the students who attended, both at our institution and in Phoenix (KCOM, UACOM-P, Midwestern)."
She'll serve in 2018-19 as co-chair of the ACP AZ Chapter Medical Student Committee and said she looks forward to greater participation by medical students in Tucson and across the state.
